Each glass bead you see in the Simple Treasures by Kris collection is handmade.  The process of making a glass bead begins with a glass rod that is carefully melted on a metal, clay-covered mandrel.  The glass is shaped while it is melting to create a bead.  Different colored glass rods are used to add to the uniqueness of each bead.

My son introduced me to the art of making glass beads, and together we participated in a workshop to learn the techniques.  This continues to be a learning process for us.  We enjoy creating the beads since there is often the element of surprise with each one!  Designing jewelry and accessories to feature the glass beads is also a part of our creative process.
